GOD MWANGA GEMS LTD
Graphite is a type of carbon that forms in crystals, made up of layers of graphene. This versatile mineral has unique properties that have enabled technological advancements for centuries. Graphite is soft and crystalline, with a gray-to-black color, an opaque appearance, and a metallic shine. Though it is flexible, it is not elastic.
From Nature's Core to Industrial Excellence
Graphite is an extraordinary mineral with properties that vary greatly. On one hand, it is exceptionally soft and can be easily cleaved with very little pressure. On the other hand, it can withstand high temperatures and is almost unreactive when in contact with most other substances. Due to these remarkable characteristics, graphite is utilized in a broad range of applications in the fields of metallurgy and manufacturing.
This substance is found naturally in metamorphic rocks like marble, schist, and gneiss. Its unique characteristics make it suitable for various industrial uses since it possesses both metal and non-metal properties. Its metallic features include the ability to conduct heat and electricity, while its non-metallic qualities consist of high thermal resistance, lubricity, and inertness.
Our Graphite Ventures
God Mwanga Gems Ltd operates a group of graphite mines and processing plants in Tanzania. Its main sites are located in the Tanga Region's Kwedikabu and Kwamsisi Sites, as well as the Mererani Mines in the Manyara Region near Arusha.
The Kwedikabu Mine is located in Kwedikabu Village, Kwamsisi Ward, Handeni District, Tanga Region. It is situated 57 km away from Mkata Ward to Pangani Road. The mine is fully operational and can produce up to 5000 tons of graphite flake concentrate per month. The mine is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and an advanced quality control laboratory. The graphite flake concentrate produced by the mine has a purity of 95%, which makes it ideal for commercial battery-grade graphite. Additionally, the concentrate can also be used to create graphite foil, refractory materials, and lubrication products. Over 80% of the concentrate is made up of large graphite flakes, making it a versatile product.
Situated in Kwamsisi, Handeni District, Tanga Region, the Kwamsisi Graphite Plant, which only began operations in January 2025, is a cutting-edge facility equipped with advanced crushing, grinding, and multi-stage flotation circuits designed to protect and preserve flake integrity throughout processing. Leveraging this modern technology, the plant consistently achieves high recovery rates and product quality, producing graphite concentrate with up to 95% TGC (Total Graphitic Carbon). With a current output of approximately 25,000 tonnes per month (TPM), the facility is well-positioned to meet rising demand and fulfill large-volume orders — making God Mwanga Gems Ltd a reliable supply partner for industries worldwide.
Located in Mererani, Simanjiro District, Manyara Region, the Mererani Mine is strategically positioned just 12 km from Kilimanjaro International Airport. Established in 2017, the mine underwent facility enhancements and paused operations in 2019. However, it is now set to resume operations in January 2026 and is expected to produce 15000 tons of high-quality minerals each month, boasting an impressive 95% purity level. This commitment to growth is a testament to our unwavering dedication to maintaining exceptional quality.
At God Mwanga Gems, quality is our hallmark. Our Kwamsisi processing facility produces approximately 25,000 tonnes of graphite concentrate per month, ensuring a steady supply for our clients. Independent lab analyses confirm our graphite’s exceptional purity – 95% fixed carbon content – and a favorable flake size distribution with over 75% of material in large flake categories (+100 mesh). This means the majority of our graphite is comprised of jumbo and coarse flakes, prized for their performance in high-end applications. Our concentrate’s high purity and large flake size make it ideal for lithium-ion battery anodes, graphite foils, refractory materials, lubricants, and more. Each batch is subjected to stringent quality control, with Geological Survey of Tanzania (GST) certified labs ensuring compliance with international standards (ISO/IEC 17025).
95% TGC (Total Graphitic Carbon) – consistently high-carbon concentrate.
>75% large flake (+100 mesh, >150µm) content – predominantly jumbo and coarse flakes for premium performance.
~25000 tonnes per month – reliable monthly output with plans for significant expansion.
Efficiency and innovation drive our production process. We employ a multi-stage grinding regimen to gently liberate graphite flakes without excessive breakage, followed by gravity separation and refinement flotation to attain high purity. Our on-site laboratory and quality control teams rigorously monitor each stage, guaranteeing that every ton of concentrate meets the specifications promised.
For buyers, this means confidence in consistency and signals a well-engineered operation capable of scaling with market demand.
Mining and processing graphite ore.
Multi-stage grinding & multi-stage flotation
Gravity separation & flotation process
The journey begins with extracting and processing graphite ore. Our tailored approach accommodates various types of graphite ore, often accompanied by silicate minerals like Mica and Pyrite.
God Mwanga Gems LTD employs a multi-stage grinding process, safeguarding the integrity of graphite flakes. Multiple grinding and separation phases align with customer needs. The thickening stage, fortified by hydrocyclones, maintains a 40% to 50% grinding density for optimal efficiency. During the multi-flotation phase, foaming agents like ether glycol and butyl ether oil are enlisted. Collectors such as kerosene, diesel oil, and acid derivatives play a key role.
For graphite ore entwined with heavy minerals, our approach integrates gravity separation and flotation. This two-step method involves first separating the heavy minerals with gravity, followed by processing the separated tailings through flotation.
At GOD MWANGA GEMS LTD, we are driven by the passion to deliver quality graphite that transcends boundaries and fuels innovation. Join us in shaping a future powered by the remarkable potential of graphite.
